Preparing for the new year

Good day, Nation Builder!

Last week, we discussed the importance of reflecting on the past year and outlined simple steps to do so effectively. Now that you’ve taken the time to evaluate, what’s next? Reflection is powerful, but it must be followed by action if you’re to see real change and progress.

Here are three ways to apply your reflections as you prepare for the new year:

  1. Set Clear Goals

“Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” – Habakkuk 2:2 (NKJV)

Take the insights from your reflections last week and turn them into intentional goals. Ensure your goals are specific, measurable, and aligned with God’s purpose for your life. To stay focused, prioritize just 3 key growth areas.

Remember, a vague vision will lead to unproductive efforts. Clear goals set the foundation for meaningful progress.

  1. Create a Plan
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

Goals without a plan are mere wishes. Break your goals into actionable steps and assign timelines to each one. Consider the resources, relationships, and habits you need to achieve these goals, and start putting them in place.

  1. Remain Spiritually Connected
“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” – Psalm 127:1 (NKJV)

True success comes when you remain connected to your Source. As you set goals and plan, stay committed to seeking God daily. Let His wisdom guide your decisions, and trust Him to help you overcome challenges along the way.

Task for the Week:

Take out a day this week to set your goals for the new year if you haven’t done so yet.

  1. Write down three areas you want to grow in.
  2. Outline simple steps to achieve them.
  3. Pray for God’s guidance and wisdom as you plan
