Preparing for the new year pt3

Preparing for the new year Pt 3

Hello Nation Builder,
Warm compliments to you and yours this Season!

Last week,we explored how to create plans that don’t just sit in your journal but become the foundation for meaningful action.

As a Nation Builder, setting goals and plans is only the beginning— our ultimate aim is to actualize them. Yet, statistics reveal that while many people set New Year resolutions, only about 46% follow through until mid-year, and only about 12% of individuals fulfill their goals by the end of the year.

To help you make your plans failure-proof, here are three simple yet effective steps:

1.Prepare for Obstacles
“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”- Proverbs 21:5 (NIV)

What are the goals or plans you’ve written down?

What potential obstacles could hinder you?

As my wife, Dr.Kemi, often says, “It’s not enough to make plans; you must also anticipate potential challenges to your plans and prepare to overcome those challenges. “One way to do this is by identifying possible roadblocks and developing strategies to tackle them in advance so that nothing catches you off guard.

2.Surround Yourself with the Right Company
“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. “-Proverbs
13:20 (NIV)

Your goals become more achievable when you spend time with the right people, Take inventory of those you spend the most time with: do they inspire and support your vision?

Also, identify individuals who can help you accomplish your goals — Pastors, mentors, or friends with proven results. Make consistent effort to draw from their wisdom either physically or via their resources.

3.Commit Your Plans to God in their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. “-Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
While it’s important to plan, it’s even more critical to seek direction from God.Trust Him to guide your steps and remain flexible to His leading as the year unfolds. Remember, God’s wisdom is the ultimate foundation for success.

Task of the Week:

Identify the obstacles that could hinder your goals and create a simple plan to overcome them.
