Hindrances to Enterprise Pt. 3 (“Get Rich Quick” and “School is a scam”)

Hello Nation Builder! I trust you are well.

In our previous newsletters, we discussed various hindrances to enterprise such as Lack of Vision, Unhealthy Comparison, Lack of Capital, and lndiscipline.

Today, we wilI explore two more challenges.

1. The “Get Rich Quick” Mentality

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. (Proverbs 21:5 (NLT)

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting immediate success. Many young people are in a hurry to achieve wealth and fame without going through the necessary process. This mentality is detrimental to true success. Rather than spending your time and efforts seeking shortcuts, settle down for real legitimate work. Put in the required commitment and diligence and watch how the blessings of God will rest upon your enterprise. It is important to know that everything that looks great today started small. To attain lasting success in your field of endeavor, you must be willing to pay the necessary price for it. Seek to grow into the levels of greatness you desire instead of looking for shortcuts.

Many who make it through get-rich-quick schemes end up losing it quickly. Instead of giving in to the pressures of social media and the illusion of overnight success, focus on the things that will give you wholesome and sustainable results. Remember, success is a journey and it involves a series of processes. Never try to skip the process.

2. The Belief that “School is a Scam”

The wise also will hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly] (Proverbs 1:5 AMP)

There is a growing trend among young people to dismiss the value of formal education, claiming that “school is a scam.” While it is true that not all successful people have formal education, the purpose of school is much more than obtaining a degree. School teaches you how to learn, think critically, and solve problems. These are skills that are invaluable in any enterprise. The principles and methods of education are to be applied in our chosen fields so that we continue to improve in value.

Additionally, the quality of one’s social life improves significantly as a result of schooling since it affords us the opportunity to meet several people whom our paths would never have crossed outside the four walls of school. This social network, if harnessed properly, can open you up to life-changing opportunities.

Formal education may not be compulsory for everyone; however, the benefits are undeniable. By all means, find out your unique path in life and what form of education will help you achieve it.

The most important thing is that you are a person of value in whatever path you choose.

Remain blessed.
